Default Sunshade stopped working

My sunshade has worked fine until recently. Now when I hit the button, the left side goes up and the right side stays down and there is no shade visible at all, just the top and side frame. Is there an easy fix?

Yes, there is a relatively easy fix for this. The shade itself provides balance for the frame so if the shade isn't attached, the one side of the frame will usually fly up quickly while the other side doesn't go up. There is a white cord that holds that shade into the frame and over time that cord falls out and then the shade isn't attached to the frame.

I fixed mine by first making sure that the shade itself wasn't stuck and that it would fully extend. You can feel back there for it and pull on it without taking anything apart. If your shade looks good and is able to fully extend, then what I did was use weedeater line and fed it into the top of the shade (there is a loop that runs lengthwise along the top of the shade that you can feed the line into). I forget the size of the weedeater line but I can go try and find it if you want. Once you feed the line into the shade, cut the weedeater line and then use something to push the weedeater line/top of the shade into the slot in the metal frame. The size of the weedeater line is important because it has to be big enough to make sure it won't come out of the metal frame's slot, but small enough that you can push the into the slot when installing.

I did this and mine has worked flawlessly since.

Thanks, I'll give it a try.
