I have a 2004 LS430 that I need to put new tires on. I put about 30k a year on the car. I don't want to have to buy a new set of rubber every year. It is rather hard to find a high mile tire rated for this car. My local tire shop reccommended the Continental Tiger Paw Touring...made by Michelin. They have a 70k warranty.

Does anyone have any history with these tires or perhaps another suggestion? Price mounted was about $150 / tire.

Go with Michellin Primacys or Bridgestone Turanza

The Tiger paw is v rated and 70k warrantee. #1 on tire rack in the grand touring A/S class is the "New" Goodyear Comfortred Touring same V rated and 70 k warrantee for around 150 bucks at Sears or I see 160 dollarar rebates at Goodyear dealer but the original price is higher(the primacy V rated warrantee is not as long). Stepped right into the Goodyears from the Michelin Primacy H's(65 k warrantee) and would never go back plus MPG went from around 23.6 to 25.1. I did not see the Tiger Paws on Tire Rack are they Uniroyals?. TP's came brand new on my kids used Rav4 and drove steady and straight. I drive 30K a year also.

It states the Michelin is a 60 k warrantee on TR. I also put the GY CT Touring on my wifes Camry Hybrid from Michelin Energy and a much better tire than this OEM tire. Mileage up again and real nice.

Just replaced a set with only 35k on my brothers Fiancee's car... she hated them so much she replaced them far before they were actually worn out...

Running Bridgestone Turanza w/ Serenity now and she is extremely happy... This is on a V6 Honda Accord Coupe...

Continental does not make the Tiger Paw, Uniroyal does. Uniroyal is Michelins' low cost replacement / entry level brand and they perform as such. Often in cheaper tires, mileage warranties are there so you feel good about your purchase, not as much about how long they should last...

Thanks to all. My mistake as it is a Uniroyal tire and not Continental. Will plan to take a strong look at the Goodyear ComforTreads.

As a side note, my in-laws came to visit this weekend and asked me to have their tires looked at. Sure enough, they needed new tires, I put the Tiger Paws on them and it has been a nice drive for 40-50 miles that we have put on the car. Tires seem to handle well in rain that we got as well as the dry roads. Quiet as well. I plan to drive their car as much as possible to get a sense of these tires. Their Buick is not as quiet as my LS, so I have to distinguish between road noise from the tires and noise from a poorly insulated cabin.

Tires are a work in progress. Get em aligned, use nitoroen as it is pretty cheap these days to keep the pressure up, and check pressure once a month. Get em aligned every year. Once they werar chopped or skived they will never even out of be as good as new or as they wear designed.
