Power Trunk Pulldown?
Caddy posted something about a power trunk pulldown on his CL over at the "other woman's house" aka GS forum....
What is this? Is it something that is on my CL? I actually looked for a power trunk closer button but have not seen one.... am I missing something?

Umm, there might be a miscommunication of terms here.
The trunk will not close by any mechanical device when it is fully open, but it will most certainly close itself once the trunk is partially shut and in a sort of pre-latch condition.
Like the door closers on the UL, shut the door halfway and they will pull the doors shut completely.

I believe all LS430 trim levels had the power trunk pulldown as described by SQquester.i

Damn Caddy... All this talk of the shapely younger model is stirring up all sorts of emotions in me! I don't know if I should go comb the college campuses or head to the dealership!!!

My trunk lid does that trick, but I never understood the feature. I always just close the trunk completely anyway and then hear the little motor whirring. That the doors pull themselves shut if left ajar is kinda cool.

I see this feature same as the door closer on CL and UL trim... it's for late at night and you don't want wake up the Mrs.... so you want to be in silent mode, not slamming doors....

As I left a parking lot the other day, I noticed that I got a warning that one of the door was ajar. Don't get that much, with all doors having electronic closures. Not seeing that my door was closed I decided it had to be the trunk. As I went over a small speed bump (damn those things!) and that caused the trunk lid to bounce, at which time the electronic closure caught it and closed the trunk.
Just another reason to have the auto trunk closer.

Honestly, the thing I like least about my car is the trunk release. At least on mine, when I push the switch under the trunk lid it seems to take a long time for the car to release the trunk and it takes too much force to lift to raise the trunk after I hear the switch engage. And by too much much, I mean...why is the trunk on the LS the hardest of all cars I have ever owned or driven? I'm talking 1990 Plymouth Acclaim, 1991 Ford Escort Wagon, etc.
Am I not waiting long enough after pushing the switch?
