My Lexus LS430 got broken into last night and my front passenger side got knocked out. I would like to know what the options are. I've called around here in the Los Angeles area but since the glass had a laminate film on it, it's hard to find. I could get tempered glass, but the laminate glass did keep the perpetrator out of my car, so I would kind of like to put that back on if possible.

All of the regular glass places I called (like 3 of them) don't carry the laminate glass (only the tempered) and they're telling me I will likely have to go to the dealer, which is going to be super expensive. My insurance isn't going to cover this

Anybody got any ideas out there?

I had an attempt on my car a couple of years back and luckily as you, the thief could not break though the laminate layers. As for me, insurance took care of it but the body shop, as you have found, could only get the replacement from Lexus. The window has the Toyota etched on it so its factory. I believe it was over $500 if I recall.

You may try to call some "junk yards" to see if there is a match.

^ yep! junk yards, theres ton in irwindale that deal with alot of imports.

Most auto recyclers (junk yards) of any size are connected electronically and can locate parts nationally via Hollander number.
