Fuse
I'd say about 95% if not more of the time, the cigarette lighter issue is the fuse just blew. Very rarely is something like that going to be anything but fuse, but have read others where somehow the connector came loose inside the assembly.
Good to hear it was a quick and easy fix.

Darn, it was just the fuse again... I was about to sell you my cigarette box that I pulled out to put in the coin box instead. ha ha.

I wanted to add to this thread considering I had a recent issue with the cigarette lighter power outlet that is in the ash tray area (immediately right of the gear shifter).
I was trying to operate a portable air compressor, and apparently I did so for too long and blew the fuse. The headache came when I checked the fuse box that is on the left side of the driver's side kick panel. There is a fuse labeled "D-CIG" and the fuse was fine. I then disassembled the center console to get to the cigarette lighter assembly. I bypassed the fuseable link (at the bottom of the cig lighter) and still no go. WTH?!?
I did some more research on this forum and discovered that the fuse that's responsible for the cigarette lighter at the ash tray is located at the passenger side kick panel (on the right side). The correct fuse to address is labeled "P-CIG." I confirmed this fuse was blown, replaced it, and the cig lighter is now getting electrical power to it. YES!!!
I have no clue what the "D-CIG" fuse controls but it definitely isn't for the ash tray cig lighter power outlet. I hope this helps someone out in the future. Thx, yet again, goes to CL for helping me save more $$$!
For additional reference, I own a 2002 LS430.....not 100% certain if the cig lighter fuse location is the same for all LS430s but I imagine it would be.

Thread Bump (i know)....I Just had this issue in the center console storage lid cig lighter no longer working. And i wanted to correct what was posted above for anyone else...
If your center console (inside the armrest lid) is not working then the fuse you are looking for is the 15a fuse on drivers side footwell labelled "power outlet". It is not the D.cig fuse.
