I'm wanting to "turn off" my telescoping steering wheel, but my local dealer says that is not an option on the 2002. Does anyone know if this is right?

I don't think you can completely disable it (make switch inoperable), but the auto retract/extend feature should be able to be disabled.

That's what I thought as well. But they are saying the 2002 (and only the '02) cannot be disabled.

I wish we had another dealer around here. I would rather stick ice picks in my eardrums than to have to deal with these tools.

It can be disabled with proper scantool/cable... PM me.
