Hey guys,
I finally pulled the trigger on the LS and drove it back from Lubbock to Austin. The LS is the most amazing car I have ever driven! I'll post pics as soon as I have time.
A couple of issues:
1. The auto tilt on the mirrors works intermittently. I have read cleaning the contacts can fix this. Anyone done this on an 05?
2. The cd changer seems a bit sensitive. Some CDs play fine and some don't and skip. Is this the first sign of a cd changer going bad? Or is the ML audio system sensitive to the quality of CDs/audio files? Or I guess it could be bad CDs.
Everything else seems to be working fine right now.
Thanks,
Sajjad

Welcome. The LS is a wonderful car., hope you enjoy it.
I think the mirror contact cleaner trick works on all model years. Be forewarned however that if cleaning contacts switch doesn't work it could be the mirror motor going bad and the mirrors are roughly $600 a piece to replace.
I don't remember anyone actually repairing a mirror motor diy but you may be able to do some research and get some info on that.
CD players can fail without notice particularly if they were abused in the past. Not much to do except replace it - best to find one at the junkyard. Or a way better idea is to bag the obsolete CD player entirely and put in an ipod interface - its relatively easy to put in and with an 8 gig ipod (buy used ipods on ebay for $50) you can have the equivalent of 50-60 CDs in the car and way better sound quality.
