The max tire width is 7.25", which is way too small.

Harbor freight sells mostly low cost Chinese made tools and parts. They have some decent stuff if you are very careful but a lot of it is just cheap junk. Unfortunately almost everything manufactured these days is cheap low quality Chinese junk.

Really makes me concerned about flying commercial these days - all major airlines are using maint and parts that are all outsourced offshore crap - low cost uncertified airframe and engine "mechanics" and crap parts with the work being done in countries with little to no regulations and BS worthless inspections. Only a matter of time before that chicken comes home to roost as a big smoking hole in the ground.

Coming from the aerospace industry, I don't believe we really have much of a problem on commercial aircraft in the US. The FAA is very strict regarding aircraft maintenance. Also, OEM are very concerned about not being able to sell replacement parts when they know that any replacements must meet strict certification standards. I am a retired gas turbine engineer and parts used in gas turbines are very critical in the safety of the aircraft.

Just my observations from 40 years in the commercial/military gas turbine area.

Great idea ... I copied your ramp set-up using scrap 2x8's and changed my oil today using them. I drilled a hole in the bottom board so I could hang em from the wall when not in use and out of the way...
Thanks for the posting JAC430

If the pavers are made of concrete, they should be very safe. Concrete is super strong in compression, much stronger than wood for instance. Rebar in concrete is only necessary for tensile loads. I would trust concrete much more than any mechanical steel ramp.

Unless your vehicle is heavy enough to collapse say a public road... you're not compressing pavers by just rolling on top of it. The OP has a fantastic idea here. Check this site for typical compression stength:

http://www.artisticpavers.com/tech-specs.php

9000+ lb/sq.in. We're not even close.

Don't worry... roll on top of that, get under it, and have your wife jump on the hood too, that thing ain't collapsing.

That's not a bad idea. I don't have a jack, so this would work until I can get a new one.

Default They kinda suck.

The reason I'm here is because those things DON'T work for me. Works great on my 4x4, but the LS460 just pushes them forward. Last time, I had to jack up the car and slide them under the car, which kinda defeats the purpose! LOL. It may be because I have the garage floor covered w/ the epoxy garage paint which makes the ground more slippery?
