Default will ac operate in the cold?

I bought my car in december and im not sure if the ac works? I tried it on a warmer day (upper 50s) and it didnt really blow out as cold as i expect. I think it may have a sensor to limit ac compressor, or else I have bad ac.

How did you try it? I've noticed on some warm spring days with the sun out, I'll feel the air shift from the floor to the dash outlets, but the air will be only somewhat cool. However, it does pump out plenty of cool air in the summer when it gets hot.

If you haven't had any trouble with clearing / preventing interior fog off the windows when the temp is above 40 you should be OK as the AC compressor is used to dehumidify the air.

If you push the AC button and it lights up then it is working. Remember that the lowest AC setting is 65 degrees so if it is colder than that outside and you turn the AC button on and set it to 65, the system will not put out cold air. As i recall, it is pretty well explained in the owners manual in the climate control section.

What is your cabin temp set at? I usually range from 72-74 F and it feels great. It doesn't really blow A/C now (especially if you live in the northern parts) b/c it probably isn't warm enough.

The manual states the following:

"If the outside temperature is lowered down to around 0 °C
(32 °F), the air conditioning will turn off automatically."

Hope this helps.

Jac
p.s. it does not say however how to "lower down the outside temperature"
Perhaps this is even beyond the capabilities of our beloved Lexi...

it turns on on the dash, and climate control turns it on sometime but its not very cold. I guess I have to wait for warmer weather to see how it works.

Does your car drop a tad in rpms when you turn the ac on that's a way to tell if compressor is working.

A/c compressor will turn on (if it's enabled) above 0degC.
The idea of it is not to cool cold air, but to provide dehumidification in the cabin.... duuuuhhh...
