Silver Wheel Touch up paint color
Anyone know what specific touch up color to use on the standard silver painted 17 inch factory wheels that come with 04-06 Lexus.?
I managed to put a small scratch one up of my wheels I'd like to touch it up. I know its one of the Toyota silver colors but I don't think its a color they use on the body of cars. I've had trouble in the past finding an exact match to touch up silver wheels.

It's not a body colour. Have you tried silver 'alloy wheel paint'? I can't give you an exact brand as an example, but I have used stuff marketed as that in the past, sold in spray cans and the colour was a perfect match for a set of aftermarket wheels that I had to their original colour, which is very close to most, that usual flat silver colour.
Sorry I can't help further.

I use to go into cosmetic shops and take out to the car botttles of nail polish that were close to the color I wanted and compare them. Its amazing how many nail polish colors there are and usually you can find a very close match for a buck.

Excellent tip - I may try that if I strike out at the usual sources - thanks.

As a guy, though, that just sounds so wrong.

Coincidentally, this adjuster also said that the composition of Lexus touch-up is very similar to nail polish. That was a new one on me.

Testors "Gloss Paint Marker" in silver just happens to be an exact match to the silver on my 2005 LS430 17in. alloy stock rims. It is really easy and convenient to use. You can get it at most hobby shops.
