Default New Driver's Seat for LS430?

I have 115,000 miles on my '05 LS430. I am a highway road warrior, and the only fault I find with my Lexus after 3 years@ over 30,000 mi. a year is a pretty important one: the driver's seat is not comfortable, especially over longer trips. I have a loaded model, and the seat, though adjustable for more positions than anyone could use, feels like the previous owner (I bought it w/ 22k miles) weighed about 300 lbs.
Anybody know if, and where, I could get another seat?

the cheapest way to go is to get one from a salvage yard.you can go to most any salvage yard and order one.the only other way is order a new one, that will cost so much it will make your knees knock.good luck, may find on on e-bay

I recently picked up the drivers bottom foam cushion from Sewell Lexus for something around $160. It's the cushion with the ventilation holes fwiw. I haven't yet installed it. I may do it myself or take it to an upholstery shop. Once I pull the seat I'll decide.

ive done seat bottoms and changed cloth to leather and it is not hard at all.the seat bottom is easy to do.you will need a hog ring tool and some hog rings.

Seat cushions are weak.drop in a new lower cushion, or rebuild at a car resto shop

I, too would be interest in replacing the foam cushion, anyone have instruction, on how to replace one. My 04 ls430, had the cushion, replace a few years back, under warrenty, it was good then. My problem with the cushion is, as the middle section start flatting, my right thigh would feel the pressure of side wing, during the long trip (2+ hour).

Default New Driver's seat for LS430?

I called my dealer parts dept. and got a quote of $1,756 for new seat frame and assorted parts. But the service manager said that was a waste of money, and referred me to an auto upholstery shop to replace the cushion. I called the shop and they'll look at it and give me a quote to pull the old cushion and build a new one. How''s that for a cool service manager! I will post my results

Please keep us informed on how a seat rebuild or recushion goes for you. I plan on keeping the LS for approx 10 years so I think my seat cushion will need a refresh at some point before than.

I've owned a 1991 and 1997 LS-400 before recently purchasing a CPO 2005 LS-430. The driver seat cushion seemed very compressed and uncomfortable. I assumed the previous driver was very heavy and that a new cushion would make it as comfortable as my former LS's. The cushion was relaced with a factory seat bottom and while being slighlty better it is still very uncomfortable.

I've seen other posts in another section of this forum where people have not been able to come up wiht a solution. Given my prior experience with the LS I am blown away by how uncomfortable the seat cushion is.

any advice would be appreciated.

Take a 400 mile trip in an s2000 and your problem will be solved. Your Lexus will suddenly be the most comfortable car you've ever driven

These posts reflect the difficulty of building a seat that fits most people...an automotive engineer once told me that building a good drivers seat for a mass market car is one of the most challenging items in building a car.
