so i'm just about to purchase some 20's help me decide on a rear tire size
rear wheel size is 20x10.5 offset +29 i'm lowered on coilovers and i'm about to get the rear fenders shaved but i was thinking a 265x35x20 rear tire. i know a 265x35x20 tire will fit fine on a 10" rim with a slightly less aggressive offset but will i be able to tuck the tire in at least halfway with a 20x10.5 +29 rear wheel running 265x35 tires??
also, would there be much benefit to a 265x35x20 tire over a 255x35x20 tire? would it ride that much softer? which tire would you go with,, 265x35x20, 255x35x20, 275x30x20 or what? thanks,

Try this. Put in your original tyre size and have a play, you'll see what is the best match for diameter pretty quickly. A larger sidewall will be ever so slightly more comfortable, but you don't want to put the diameter out too much or your speedo will not be accurate.

Thanks, but I already know about tire calculators, that is not exactly what I was asking,, presently I am %% under speck so this is not a concern of mine.
My question is what will fit and what won't. I would prefer a larger sidewall for comfort but if it won't be able to tuck with the larger tire than it not going to work out. Pretty much what is the largest tire that will still tuck on an 05 LS430 and still be a good fit for that wheel width and offset.
I know a 10.5" wide rim can take a 265 no problem but I prefer not to stretch any more than that.
I test fitted a 275x35x19 tire one day and when lowering my car back down it seemed like the tire sat right on my non rolled rear fenders, so how much smaller if any or larger would a 265x35x20 be in relation??

a while back i test fitted a 275x35x19 tire on my 19x10 (offset 44) rim and when lowering my car back down it seemed like the tire sat right on my non rolled rear fenders, so how much size difference in terms of wheel position would a 265x35x20 be on a 20x10.5 offset +29 wheel in relation??
i am not a good math person in terms of offsets which throws off all my calculations but this is my guess so far so please correct me or explain it in better terms you smart wheel offset peoples out there. so the difference in offsets is 15mm comparing my old 19's and these new(er) 20's. but the 20's are 10.5" wide compared to the 19's at 10" wide so does that mean you have to add an additional .5" (12.7mm) to the width? so would the difference in how much further the tire sticks out be 15mm or 27.7mm (15+12.7) = ((1.06"))??

alright so i just got confirmation that a 275x30x20 will fit no problem on this exact wheel size with just a rolled rear fender,, so all confusing stuff aside will a tire (265x35x20) that is 10mm shorter width wise but 20mm taller (10mm sidewall taller so 10 top and 10 bottom = 20mm total taller tire when standing side by side of a 275x30x20) also fit no problem??

I am running 20 x 10.5 +25 in the rear. I've only had it for a few days but I rub on huge dips, bumps and driveways on occasions. My rear tire size is 245/35-20. I have my inner fender lips cut (ALOT) and the longger lower control ams installed (about -3.7 camber).
When I 1st picked up the wheels it had 255/35-20 mounted. And i rubbed BAD with no rear camber (stock arms).

i bought the 265x35x20 tires since i got them shipped brand new (nitto 555 extremes) for $300 total to my door.
i will let you know in a day or two how much work was needed to get them to fit but when i test fitted my friends with the same exact tire size and 5mm more aggressive than the wheels i got they rubbed pretty bad but nothing a roll and possibly mild shave cant take care of, and i put the shorter control arms (5mm shorter) to correct some negative camber.
