I live in a building with underground parking and very poor security, so every 12 - 18 months, 10 of the nicer cars get their windows broken and their cars searched for GPS units, cash and anything else worth stealing.

I want to keep my windows open so they don't get broken, and keep my valuables safe in the trunk ..... Can I disable the trunk release in a 2005 LS so thieves can't pop the trunk from inside the car and steal my stuff from the trunk ?

Yes you can - there's a key lock right next to the release. Push it in and the trunk release will no longer function until you undo it with the key.

I guess it's mainly intended for valet use.
