28 here bought my 05 UL bout 1.5 years ago, had a gs400 (modded) before that. i have always been into the big bodied luxo cars like leroy mentioned. plus after getting introduced into the vip scene back in 02 i have wanted to do a celsior (ls430),, finally i have my chance.
i did not buy this ls430 for its stock appearance. i bought it strictly to lower it, put rims on it, and other slight vip stuff. to me this car is the essence of vip,, when modded of course.
i could not drive this car stock because the stock appearance doesn't do much for me. same as the new gs and q45 but modded i think these cars look a 1000 times better.

25 now, second owner (first owner was late 70s), bought when I was 24, and it's my first car.
Reasons for buying: 1) reliability, 2) luxury
Previously accustomed to 89/97/98 Ford Crown Victorias (9-body trunks) and a 1980 Mercury Zephyr. I like big, comfortable cars with storage and people-carrying capacity.
My LS just hit the 82000km mark a few days ago. Will drive it until it is unfixable or will upgrade to LS600hL some day and give this LS to the parents.

My partner and I are both 48, and are the second owners. Purchased car in 2008. At least in MN, most LS owners seem to be older than us. I also NEVER see modified LS's around here.

For me it's about the purpose you intend to use the car for. My LS is my daily driver. Often in peak traffic hours and congested conditions. Also often on the highway for long trips. With this in mind my highest priorities were comfort and space (interior and cargo), reliability (I refuse to by expensive brands apparently made from cardboard and rubber bands ) and overall luxury.
Driving around daily in the LS is a pleasure. It feels like you're floating on a cloud. Cruise control on the hwy turns it into a couch on wheels with a steering wheel. When I'm stuck in traffic I'm sitting on a leather couch with a good stereo and nice climate controls. Not cramped or uncomfortable in the least.
I equate the LS's popularity among an older demographic to be a demonstration of that demographic's intelligence and experience. They know that practicality mixed with an abundance of luxury is ideal and preferable for daily use. I followed suit and love it. It's unfortunate that younger people overlook practicality because they think it precludes enjoyment/excitement.
*I also find it better looking that alot of the flashier cars and adequately powerful. If it's not powerful enough we're not talking about a daily driver anymore IMO and why stop at a 3 or 5 for your twice a week racecar?*

Rearwheel drive
Im 34 i love big lux. rearwheel cars. But for some reason im having the urge to buy a sports cars too. I love evarything about the ls except the speakers and lack of sport feeling, but who buys a ls for the sporty side. Plus it kinda remind me of the 1998 toyota cressida i had, great car dissapointed they dont make em no more.

Hmm.. This came out to be a very interesting discussion. I, myself am 25. Always have been a Lexus fan because of the reliability Toyota offers. Just had my LS for about a month, love the car! I've always been fond of the LS series because of the quietness, power and definitely reliability!

Okay, I'll be the first to admit that I'm 71!
With due respect to all you "kids", where are all the older folks like me that are supposed to be the majority of LS owners? Do they not understand computers and the web? Do they think they already know everything and have no need for a forum like this? Are they so well off that they have already gotten rid of their LS430's? Do they just enjoy their LS430s and don't feel a need to gloat over it to others?
Frankly, I'm pleased to find that so many young people have a desire for and the ability to own LS430's. I thoroughly enjoy being a part of this forum. Keep up the good work and sharing with others.
