Ok, last time I checked this, my filter in this thing is falling apart, It needs to be replaced. What type of filter can I replace it with, I don't want the whole device, I just want the filter..
Any idea ? Is there a part number for it or something so I can search for it/buy it ?

Mine was nasty and looked just as bad as the pictures. You would think that this should almost be part of a mileage service.
Mine is switching much more often from outside air to recirculate.
I know this is an old thread, but thanks for the tip……

Cleaned my MAF and smog sensor today. Both were dirty and needed the maintenance. Thanks to those on this forum who share the knowledge to do these things "do it yourself".

Hey guys, just a quick thread revival. If you have never cleaned yours it is a good time to give it a go. Improves performance and it's always good to keep it clean.

did mine the other day, on both the LS and the LX. Almost identical, both are about 1 inch square filters and were easily cleaned with hand soap and water in only a few minutes. After 65k and 115k miles both were dirty but probably not to the point of impeding performance, hard to tell though.
If you choose to replace the filter with something other than OEM, I would very carefully select whatever material you use for correct density. After air flows through the filter, it hits 1 or 2 sensors of some type; I doubt the sensors are cheap and wouldn't want to foul them. On the other hand, they are extremely easy to get to for any DIYer if they go bad and you have to replace them.
