Default What price should I expect

I have a 2002 LS430 UL with factory chrome wheels. It is millinium silver with black leather. Car only has 58,000 miles.

Condition is incredible. It is washed (by me) once a week. I have been fastidious about it - waxed with Zymol wax (Zymol Carbon on all surfaces except hood, which is waxed with Zymol Destiny). The base coat under the Zymol is Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant. The leather is cared for with BMW's Leather Care Lotion, which I find to be the best product for leather.

Car has new B.F. Goodrich Z rated tires, an XM radio, and a VAIS iPod adapter.

What should I expect to get for my car on a retail basis?

Mark

What someone owes on something has nothing to do with what it is worth!

Around here the going price would be about $20,000. Dealer Retail $23k. Might be tough to get that for it right now..

Default Nothing owed

I am fortunate that thus far, I haven't had to borrow for a car. That has kept me from certain cars I would like to have, and it keeps me from buying new.

To ejthomp, actually it sorta does but I will save u my exp since I'm on my phone typing this. The most exp vehicle I have ever paid cash for was like 9k. I just don't roll like that (30k extra in the bank for a car), maybe one day when I stop buying rims n subwoofers

I would think u could at least get 18 for it, but I would try to list for say 19800 then maybe drop to 19500 if no serious offers in a couple weeks. Check out autotraders run till it sells campaign.

Also checking autotrader for all 01-03's within say 50 miles of ur zip with similar mileage will always show u what others r asking, then once u see the low and high ends of the sale price spectrum shoot for something towards ur comfortable price/ acceptable sale time (lower price = quicker sale, higher price = slower sale time).

2002 UL with 50K I would say private sale don't expect any more than $22K if lucky, but most likely it won't sell for more than $18K. With '07 LS460s coming off lease now and '02 LS430 being before the '04 refresh with more goodies, you're not going to fetch much with your '02 even though it's in very good condition. I say very good because excellent only applies to show cars that really are not driven.

You cant get retail price because you are private seller. Kbb.com says trade-in is around:

2002 Lexus LS 430
Good
$16,625
Fair
$15,175
http://www.kbb.com/KBB/Selection/Con...|0|167884|true

And Private Party Value
Good
$19,660
Fair
$18,360
http://www.kbb.com/KBB/UsedCars/Pric...ePath=Trade-In

Market Sucks right now, my guess would be "if you want to sell it" is around 17k... those low to mid 20k's are just not going to happen, unless you find some sucker.

Exactly what he said. Might even dip into the 15's as the car turns 8 years old soon.

Edited: Just noted the low miles for year. Safe to say 16-17K.
