Here are pictures of the 8.1 detailed map coverage (blue areas), as compared to 9.1 detailed map coverage. Upon first notice, there was nothing to observe, however, during my travels yesterday and today, there are colorful interstate highway markers as well as state roads. I don't remember seeing these colorful signs before (red/white/blue for interstates), etc. It adds much needed color to the boring looking maps, especially when zoomed out beyond 1 mile...

Here are (8.1) Map Areas 1 & 2 and (9.1) areas 1 & 2...

A 2001 LS430 is Generation 2 (GEN2). The latest/greatest update for you is also version 9.1 (Ver 9.1)

All 9.1's are not interchangeable! The GEN2's and GEN3's use the same disc. It's the same part #. You need to get a GEN2/3 Version 9.1 to have the latest/greatest database and info.

Use this link...very helpful...

can I back up a copy and use that in my car, as opposed to using the original that I will purchase? I'd rather the expensive one be somewhere else.
