new headrest monitors and Vaistech SL2Vi install
I finally had headrest monitors and the Vaistech SL2Vi installed in my UL. It was actually done almost two months ago, but finally getting around to posting the results.
I had also planned to install the Lockpick1 to be able to override the Nav and Bluetooth controls. Unfortunately, the SL2Vi video capability doesn't work with the Lockpick1. So I paid $240+ on the Lockpick1 and I cannot even use it. I will be selling it once I figure out if I am allowed to sell on CL or not.
The monitors are Vizualogic. Had to have them custom made since they don't make them for the LS430. Fortunately, the stereo shop I go to for all my cars does a lot of business with Vizualogic and they did the custom in just a three day turnaround. I had to be without a headrest for a week though while they used it for comparison.
Anyway, here are the results.

tray install also
Here is a pic of the ashtray replacement. For those of you who remember my post on the other thread on the trays, I replaced the cover that came with the replacement with my original. I originally was going to have the ipod cable stashed in this tray, but didn't want it cluttered so I had it moved to the center console/armrest as you can see (you can also see the datasystem controller too).

Vizualogic are tops notch stuff. I love the install on the screens. Love to get mines done but virtually no one sits in the back seat of my car or even front passenger for that matters.

Each headrest monitor has a DVD dock. One headrest acts as the master or primary, so if you want both headrests to show the same video, you have to use the master/primary headrest. On my set up, it is the driver side headrest which is the primary.
Also note that I can flip a switch which allows the Nav screen to show what is playing on the Primary headrest, and the audio will play through the speakers. The shop rewired a vid/aud module to allow this to work.

$1.7K for the headrests and $2+ on the Vais, then labor to install. They did a lot of custom wiring. Plus, they spent a lot of time working with Vais and Lockpick1 folks on the phone and messing with the units to try to get them to work together. In the end, I had to leave one for the other.

I am actually hoping someone who has the vais video ipod set up can help comment, but in my set up, the only way I can watch video is to control it from the ipod and not the nav screen. Kinda a bummer if you ask me. Any one else have he video vais and not have to do this?
