Waving to other LS drivers?
Ok. Just for the fun of it, I created a non-scientific poll regarding your habits while you're out driving your LS, because of something that I started doing. Yesterday, while sitting at a traffic light, a LS430 was driving the opposite direction. I noticed the driver stared at (I'm assuming) my LS430. I WAVED. (The other guy didn't..lol) This was the first time I waved to a fellow LS owner. I think I will wave to EVERY LS owner from here on out..regardless if it's an LS400, 460, or 600h.
My poll question is--Do you ever WAVE or NOD or POINT or SMILE or acknowledge in some manner or action, to a fellow LS owner as you cross paths on the road???

In Miami most of the people that own LS's are cluless of what they are ... unfortunatly they will just take me for crazy But in the other hand any other modded Lexus will recognize the car and sometimes nod.
People are not as friendly down here...

I think it's definitely an age thing and the LS430s are not that old yet to be "waving" vehicles because most of the OWNERS are still old. I wave or not depending on the driver and if they're even looking.
It's totally different in my Integra. I wave to every 2nd gen Integra I see and they usually wave back because we're like a "family." When I see another GS-R like mine, it's headlights and horn and they always signal back. I get signalled some times by the other drivers that I may miss.
Maybe in another 10 years or so, the LS430 will be waving cars.

yeah i occasionally wave if i think they look like they are under 45 (no offense) or tinted or modded in any way. i usually don't get the return wave and instead even get some strange looks at times, sorta makes me not wanna wave but whatever.

I voted No because as others have said, 99% of them would wonder WTF is wrong with you because they wouldn't have a clue as to why you'd be waving. LOL Exactly the opposite of being in the Supra.
In the rare event (once or twice in my life IIRC) I see a modded LS430, I'd acknowledge.

What is strange sometimes is other high end modded sedans like BMW and Mercedes giving dirty looks. I like all brands and models and have owned most; I just love Lexus because it will outlast all of them

I probably have waved at a few LS owners 19 years ago when seeing another LS was rare. These days they are pretty common.
I was in the second row of cars stopped at a traffic light on an Overland Park, Kansas six lane street a couple of years ago and noticed that the first two rows of cars - six cars total - stopped for the light were all Lexus vehicles.
There has always been a greater bond among sports car owners. I never passed another Triumph (car, not motorcycle) or Mercedes SL owner in the 1960s without waving and/or honking. Of course Triumph owners wave and honk due to being amazed that another Triumph owner could actually get his car running well enough to drive it.

I voted no but think about doing it.
However I did see a well kept classic ride from the 50's the other day parked...I don't even know what it was and I was staring at the car. The owner was walking around it talking to someone else and i instinctively gave him the thumbs up...and he acknowledged with a head nod.
Maybe if I saw the NELOC sticker I would give a thumbs up...but I "ain't" waving at random Lexus owners. That's sorta whack! lol
Cheers,
Ian
