will 6 1/2 speaker fit the doors?

What year/make/model are you referring to? btw--crutchfield's customer service is very good...i'm sure if you called them they would know..however you need to tell them what the vehicle is too.

I am not an expert but even if they fit, you probably shouldn't use them. Likely not the same ohm rating and will shorten the life of the ML amp. Plus they will likely require more power from the amp so will not be tuned properly as part of the complete system.

I had almost the same situation. Only I needed to change front speakers and the sub from the start. First I changed front speakers and the sound was great (I went with Infinity Reference 6.5 in). Then I changed the sub and the system started to bug out, turned off and then on. This meant that the stock amp is not enough. So I installed a Kenwood 1000W 2 channel amp for sub only and now system sounds good.
