I had mine done about 6 months ago and it was done free under some Federal emissions thing. I didn't even know about this, I was all ready to pay to have it done. I don't know how long it was in effect, but I think the dealer said within 8 years (honestly don't remember).

I have only noticed perhaps a 1 mpg drop in local driving. Highway still a good 26 mpg plus doing 70 mph.

My UL is an early 04, which I purchased as a CPO, the transmission had been replaced as a recall, and I have never experienced anything abnormal about the transmission. Completely happy from day one.

I experience a longer engagement period for the car to reverse or drive. I just learn to hold the brake longer (otherwise there is a bit of a jerky initial motion). Afterwards, everything is smooth as can be, even under more spirited acceleration, almost eerie how good this entire car is . I have a late yr 430 btw, produced around 05/2004 I believe.
