Default New padding for the center armrest

I have been thinking about pulling apart my armrest and redoing the padding under the leather. It's particularly hard / worn right where the drivers side elbow would normally rest from 10 years of use. I found a post on removing the center console, seems easy enough to do. Any thoughts on material and getting access to the padding? I was thinking memory foam might be nice to put in there. Cutting to match a piece from a pillow maybe.

Here is the post I found to remove the armrest:

Something squishy and soft would be nice. This will be on my to do list as well. There is a noticeable elbow imprint on the drivers side.

yep I got the elbow imprint, seems like they didn't put enough foam in there at the factory

+1 Finding a good upholstery shop. I had my drivers seat padding done, and it feels much better now.

Oh no... it's started. It's a good idea and I thank myself for suggesting it. Take pictures and / or post reviews when you have it done.
