To all who had failed air strut in their UL, is the pass side rear the 1st to go bad?

Hi, newbie here. Just purchased an 04 LS 430 UL with 88K miles yesterday. The Lexus Dealer offered to sell me the Lexus Extra Care Platnium or Gold Warranties. Does anyone knw if either of these warranties cover the Air Suspension Parts and Labor? Thanks for a great forum.
If its a Lexus, it would cover everything except wear and tear. I had the Platinum and it had Zero deductible. Got a few thousand dollars worth of stuff fixed at no charge (well sort of, had to pay for the warranty up front). The warranty was less money than the fixes.

Airtime, thanks for your reply. The Gold and Platnium Plans were both VSA (Vehicle Service Agreements) - Lexus Extra Care Plans from Lexus Financial Services. The doco says the coverage is available for certain vehicles with mileage up to 100k at time of purchase from a Lexus Dealer.

My car just crossed over 45,700 miles and while doing a tire change notice that my passenger rear air strut looked like it has a thin layer of oil that's got dust and grime all over it. I assume it's defective but the air seems to be holding. Any ideas if it's about to fail slowly or will I come back to my car one day and see it sitting on that tire?

You can get them for $850-900 each online. I would reccomend replacing both rears at the same time as it involves removing the rear package shelf, which requires removing the rear seats.
You can also switch to steel springs as others have done for the same amount of money for just the two rears.

.. I think I am going to go to either Ksport Pro Coilovers.. or perhaps bite the bullet and get the Ksport pro plus air suspension. Have to seriously consider whether to do all this, or just sell my car and my datasystems controller, rims and everything.. and get something new. I be rockin like a boat now smh

I had the right rear fail, too. It was replaced about 3 months ago.
I have a question about the sagging, though. People in the thread have stated they have adjusted the sensor to fix the sagging. . . What is that? I know NOTHING about cars, so I would have to go to the dealership to have that adjusted. I am just wondering if anyone knows how that is done?

1st shock to go out was the R/R at 104,000 miles. I had Lexus dealership replace at a cost of $1500 of which $315.00 was labor.
Same shock went bad at around 275,000 miles. I lived with it for a several weeks, debating to go coil-over or spend another $1500 at the dealership.
So, I bought a used shock and spent 1.5 hours in total to fix the issue.
Vehicle now has 282,000 miles and is again a joy to drive.
The clip that attaches the air line on the replacement shock was missing, so I re-used the one I had. I have limited tools and used 2 small screwdrivers to undo the air line clip.
Get in there and get your hands dirty. If I was able to fixed this, I'm quite sure anyone smart enough to purchase an LS430 could do it
