I was told by a few heare that there is some type of recall for the early 04 models with the new 6spd auto... I checked the database in my toyota delership and found no recalls whatsoever. I also called and emailed Lexus Corporate and they also told me that there was never any recalls. What is the real truth here?

doesn't seem like a big campaign, but call Lexus back and quote them those numbers and see if it applies, and if so does it apply to your vehicle.

Yeah there was a recall but it depends on your vin# if you need to have it serviced.

every LS was recalled that was made before a certain date. I personally remember the recall.

The 2004 LS430 transmission recall was Campaign# 04V317000, and recalled all 13,000 04 LS430s made between dates 7/29/2003-1/14/2004. Owners were notified on 7/29/2004, and transmissions were replaced due to defective part could cause metal shavings to jam Park mechanism & cause vehicle to roll unexpectedly (Safety Recall).

(There was also a Fuel Pump recall at about the same time. Fuel Pump recall was Campaign # 04V295000.)

ha ha, no credit necessary. We're all here trying to help each other out and get through out little problems and questions.

You should get full credit, you replied with actual info.. I slacked off and just posted a link...

So to finding out which VINS apply, call Lexus or write to them, tell them about the recall and campaign number, then ask them if your VIN applies. Hopefully they don't just say "no" when in fact it does apply.
