How much MPG do you get on 19" or 20" rims?
I was wondering what MPG's others members are getting on your 19" or 20" rims? This may clear up some clouds on low MPG's and high MPG's members are stating they get. I know tire width size, rim weight and tire pressure will play a major factor.
I want you to state:
Rim size, brand and offset?
Tires brand, model and specs?
Weight of rim if available?
Driving habits and MPG's in city and hwy?
Tire pressure in PSI?
And other things which you may have added to increase MPG's?
I am currently on 19" Wald rims with 19x8.5 +30 offset 225/45/19 in front and 19x9.5 +35 offset 245/40/19 in rears on Bridgestone RE050A all around. Tire pressure is at 40psi and I drive 60% city and 40% hwy. I drive very mild trying to achieve the highest mpg possible and neutral roll when going down hill on freeway coasting. My rims weigh about lbs each. I am getting about 18-19 mpg now mixed driving. I used to get 20-21mpg with my stock 16's on 225/65/16 all around. I am very happy with my Wald rims and a big difference in looks than my original stocker 16's. Just curious what other are getting with specific rim, tire, weight, psi etc.

I just had my fill up last week. Driving gently, with 20" on, I got 20.5mpg. Normally, if I jack rabbit start and not concern, I would get about 17.5mpg.
Specs:
Nitto 555 245/35 & 275/30
Lowenhart Wheels LDR 20x9, 20x10
All 4 wheels at 40psi.

It's been 20K miles on this tire. I'm on DataSystem and usually drive with 2 or 3 setting. Yes, inside is wearing out faster than the outside but i think I can go another 5K for sure.
I estimate to rive 30 miles on Hwy for commute daily, and 5 miles/day on local streets.

What series tires are you running? (For example) Exact numbers like 235/30/20 and 255/45/20 or 245/40/19 etc.

I ressurected this old thread but its a good question and i have experience in both 19 and 20 inch wheels. I recently put on 20s and noticed my mileage is becoming crap. when i was on my 19s 245/40 and 275/35 tires and 38 psi and 40 psi i was getting 20-21 mpg average with 60% hwy and 40% city. Now I just put on my 20s 245/35 and 265/35 40 and 42 psi. My avg has dropped to about 18.5. I dont drive hard either. I also notice my car isnt shifting as smooth as it was before. Does it have to do with bigger wheels?
