How to get ballpoint pen ink off leather?
Some idiot got ballpoint pen ink on my ivory leather glovebox. I tried using Griot's Leather Care and Lexol leather cleaner, but since they are mild cleaners they didn't really do anything. What can I use to get the ink off?
By the way, the Griot's leather care cleans way better than Lexol. Time to throw my Lexol in the trash.

Sorry to hear about the ink. I have never used it, but the Leather Care Kit that I use has ink and lipstick cleaner. I found it at http://***********.com/leathercarekit.html

You might also try posting this in the Detailing Section if you dont get a course of action your comfortable with performing here. There are some detail professionals that monitor that forum specifically for questions like these.

I ended up using some cologne on a q-tip. It took it off but kinda lightened the leather. Its not really obvious and looks better than the pen though. I believe there is a "paint" or coating on the leather that sort of comes off a little along with the pen ink.
