Default crystal white, moonlight pearl...is there more then 1 white color?

I am specifically looking at a 05' LS430 with ultra luxury, does that car come with more then 1 white color?

Is the moonlight pearl some kind of special white pearl color just for the ultra?

Thanks

White is white, Moonlight Pearl is not nearly as white -- looks a little bit silver-white, or beige-white depending upon the lighting -- definitely won't be confused with pure white. Moonlight Pearl replaced Parchment Crystal in '04. FWIW, I like those colors as all-around good-looking dirty or clean, not too scorching in the summer, car overall looks good, etc. I love black, but for anything approaching a daily driver in Florida, I like the '04+ silver too.

You are the only guy who responded, thank you

You are right, the moonlight pearl looks silverish. I guess there is only one white.

I wanted to respond but didn't want to give the wrong info.

Actually, this is from the GS (I'm sure you know):
98-99 Diamond white pearl
2000+ Crystal white
200x? Parchment white- I called that the chalky white.

I believe those are the 2 whites for the LS430 also.

Hey Jeff, so you got a white one?
I love white, but I want blk interior, so I settled with charcoal/blk.

Back to the Q, yes, there are 2 whites.

Yeah the GS got different white for different year.

But I believe the LS430 got 2 different shades of white concurrently.

There are NOT two whites, unless you apply a VERY loose definition of white. Moonlight Pearl looks very similar to Parchment, which it replaced. Here's Parchment:

So is it correct to say moonlight pearl is a pearl white and crystal white is a non-pearl white?

I LOVES your car by the way (I assumed that is your car), it is exactly my style, 19s (I believe they are 19s), flush fitment, slightly lowered with no wheel gap, but not too low. Big beefy tire sidewall. Bravo, good job!!

Do you mind sharing your wheel/tire spec? If I am not mistaken from what I read before, your rear tire is a 275/40/19? Can you share everything else? wheel/tire size, offset.....etc? I just love it. Are you on airbags?

Thanks

Moonlight Pearl is not at all bright white. I don't think it comes through very clearly in internet photographs, but it's a lot the color of my Parchment car above. You may have to go to a Lexus dealer and see for yourself, otherwise you might get a feel for looking on Autotrader.com. But keep in mind that Moonlight tends to look a lot more white in photos on the internet. Crystal white is a "white white," so to speak -- no off-white about it. I am pretty sure that Crystal white is also a "Pearlglow" or Mica paint. It's interesting how they acheive the effect of some of the Pearl colors. For example, on Parchement, there are millions of TINY green and purple flakes in the paint. LOL

EDIT: BTW, look a the white in the license plate on my car -- that's about the color of Crystal White. The lighting at the time makes my car look kind of "dove gray" in that photo (which is one color that Parchment sometimes appears). Moonlight might or might not look dove gray in some lights, but generally speaking it is very close to Parchment, IMO.

Thanks very much. I deliberately did not go VIP with the wheels. Just my personal preferences. The sidewalls look larger in some photos than they are -- they're the same size as BMW 7-series sport wheel/tires, for example.

Volk Racing LE37T / Dunlop Sport SP 01-A (<-- a mistake -- I'll definitely buy Michelin tires next time)
Front: 19x8.5 43-mm offset / 245/45/19
Rear: 19x9.5 45-mm offset / 275/40/19
I'm on Tein CS coilover suspension. It's probably only dropped about an inch or so from the factory height -- the taller tires don't need much drop, and that also helps perserve proper suspension geometry.

The "Parchment" is really "Parchment Crystal," I think. At least that's what my 2002 LS's official color is called. And it isn't "white" in any sense. A really beautiful color and very vibrant in the sunlight. 16turbo is right about all the little green and purple flecks in the paint. It is beautiful.

Now I know what moonlight pearl looks like, I bought one last Saturday, I lovessssssss the color, to me, it is pearl white with a hint of silver in it. To me, the crystal white is more yellowish.

Yeah I am not a fan of the VIP styling also.

Thanks for the spec. Again, that is exactly my preference, big tall tires to fill the wheel well, very small wheel gap but don't need much drop to perserve proper suspension geometry, not to mention the good ride from the big sidewall.

Good job!!
