What is everyone's average gas mileage? (The Mother thread)

Quite impressed by the fuel economy of our 06 430. On the freeway, 65-70 MPH, I get 26-28 MPG (exceeding EPA estimates by 10%). Even more impressive is MPG around town. I changed jobs last year and work is 4 miles from home now, barely enough distance to get the engine warmed up on cold mornings. My commute has become 100% city driving. Our previous car was an 07 Sienna. In 10 months, the Sienna 3.5L V6 averaged 17.6 MPG on the work commute. So far, in 6 months with the LS I am averaging 18.7 MPG on the same commute, and with a V8 that's almost 25% more displacement. Being 100% city-driving, I don't really reach speeds to engage 6th gear. I believe the better fuel economy is entirely from the ample torque of the V8 and I rarely have to rev past 2000-2200 RPM. From time to time I'll do a quick sprint near redline but generally drive pretty sedately and the car still has plenty of pick-up-and-go. We're gonna drive from Sacramento, CA to Disneyland soon and I'm hoping to achieve 600 miles on a single tank. Will report back whether I reach the goal or not. Just can't get over the fuel economy of the V8...it beats the Sienna 3.5L both around town and on the highway!

Too funny... "It's alive!! It's alive!!"
That being said, I average 28-29 mpg on my commute every day. My wife, on the other hand (I call her Lead foot Lisa) is averaging 11.6 with the 05 LS. She mostly drives short trips around town. The good thing is she doesn't drive very much, so a tank of fuel lasts quite a while

When the wife drove the '01 around town she would get 19-20 at best; no heavy highway driving. Now that this is my DD with a long commute almost all highway I log 23.5-25 routinely. Better than I expected for sure (but not the 34-36 I was getting on my small Honda before switching to this "land yacht" - which is a joy to drive/ride in every day!!!!)

2006 LS430 gas mileage
gas is 10% ethanol in Hawaii. City & highway combined varies from a low of 18 mpg to 20 mpg...usual combined average is 19.1 +/-. Running Bridgestone tires at about 35-36 psi front & 32-34 rear. Do not use brakes too much...downshift to slow vehicle...brakes now have over 75k on them. car mileage is just over 105k. btw...mileage average covers 2012 to current. Bot car used in 2009 w/19k miles.

My figure is not statistically reliable yet, as I've only gone 600 miles since getting the car.....I use an android app to track....and my avg is 22.9.
There is a disproportionate amount of highway driving in my figure. This implies my number will be much lower in normal driving. Right now, the mpg computer says 20.6.
What I've always found interesting in all our cars, is to track the avg. mph. The lower it is, the lower the mpgs tend to be. In our normal day to day, the avg mph tends to only be around 27 mph....

I run 95 octane fuel here (equivalent to your 91), and I haven't been doing a lot of highway miles recently, so my average is sitting at about 18L/100km, which is heinous in anyone's book

2001 Base, I will hit 230,000 miles in the next couple of weeks. Wouldn't hesitate for a second to drive it across country. Just may have bought my last set of tires the other day, went from Michelin to Continental. Both are a good tire, I think I like the Michelin a little better, just a little more quite and maybe a little soother, haven't driven the Conti's in snow yet. But not much difference between the two on the smooth and quite category. I need to have my brake rotors turned, light pulsing during braking, I did brakes around 150,000, Pads are at 50%. Past year the only thing that has broke was an oil control valve and a tail lamp.
Running 85 Octane Colorado blended 10% ethanol fuel.
Change oil with Mobil 1 or equal every 5,000 mile rather it needs it or not.
Last changed spark plugs at 125,000, they are due again in 20,000 miles
At least a year if not more since the fuel computer has been reset
Average Mile Per Hour 51
Average Mile Per Gallon 23.4
Drive 85 plus miles per day
80% hi-way 20% in town
When on the interstate, I'm running 85MPHish, seldom on cruise control.... Colorado's finest is going to catch up with me soon I'm thinking.

I've only driven about 1,600 miles, and I track mpgs on an android app....mine is 22.02. However, there is a disproportionate amount of highway miles there, so I suspect this will drop over time as more stop/go driving is factored in.
I find that the mpg computer is somewhat accurate, and I have seen 27 mpg when cruising at 70 mph for about 60 miles straight....

My wife accidentally reset the mpg computer, and it's been all suburban driving with a little highway, and so now I see it struggle to reach 18.....the LS shows its true self!!
