Dated? Maybe just different
While pundits may remark with their opinions about the LS 430 (in any trim) as being dated, I beg to differ.
My '06 Mercury Silver gathers more than her share of glances. I believe this is why.....
Most cars today from Chrysler to subaru all look, or try to, like the maw on the later versions of Lexus. Now granted.... I WANT A 2018 LC. But, I still get to ferry my 90 year old Mom around. A picture of her getting into the backseat would not be..... Anyway.
The '06 back to the first gens of the LS are the epitome of understated elegance with more than a dash of panache.
They look great and go fast and today you can get a keeper for, well, not a whole bunch of hours worked.
I'll wait for the LC to be dated. Let's see if they age as gracefully.
Just my 2c
All the best

Again, I think the best cars across many makes, were built sometime in the 2004-2010 ballpark. And so yes, the LS430 is dated if you evaluate it based on electronics. Then again, the original iPhone came out mid 2007 (I've never owned one and if all goes as planned, never will). The last of the LS430's were built about 1 yr. prior in 6/06. Likely the thing that they have, that many cars no longer do, is the ability to run forever, figuratively, and possibly literally.
I drove the LC last Sunday, I liked it a lot more than the RCF. But in general it doesn't appeal to me, I'd be more at home in a M3 sedan. Also drove the new LS last Sunday, and I have to admit the looks which I consider unattractive, aren't bothering me as much. It's a super nice car but V6 at that price I dunno.

They need to bring back a manual option for RC and LC coupes. I always wanted an LS since riding in my friends 02 back in 07 right after graduating HS. 83 cars later, I finally could justify spending 5500 on a 186k example at a random small dealer in KY that was full of trucks. It looked like an odd duck sitting there. I think they had no idea what these are worth and honestly, it sat there for a while. Very happy with my LS.

I love the look and style of the LS. Timeless body shape. Things only look dated because constant change is built in to all products to make the new one different. Same with house styles, paint colors, etc.
I am one who thinks our 2001 looks just as good as our 2004.
The best thing is, my opinion is the only one that counts. If others think they are dated, that is just great.

I'd like to see a photo shopped picture of an LS430 with a slightly lower roof line. I think that the profile is probably one of the most appealing things about the LS400. The lower roof line on that car makes it look better than the LS430, in my opinion. However, as Spdjnke said, wheels, tint and stance do help this old boat...

The LS 430 design is very elegant and smooth. Current styling on most cars including Lexus brand with silly giant plastic grill is the opposite of elegant. I would not be caught dead driving some of these goofy looking rigs.
Wait a few years, this current trend of multiple sharp creases, tiny greenhouse, and anime looking lights, grills, and bumpers is unsustainably butt-ugly.

Thanks, Yup that’s mine, it’s a UL, I dropped the stock air suspension 1.25” to keep it classy and stay stock on the alignment, depending on where and how it’s parked it’s actually 1/2” lower then in the pic. I’ll see if I can get another pic of it.
