If you don't have a manual, you can order one free from mylexus.com. Just register your car and they will mail you one with no charge. However, they will not send someone to your home to read it to you! LOL.

Hi Writes123

Nothing in the manual. Every other 2005 with Navigation and the backup camera had Bluetooth. On mine there is no menu on the Navigation unit for the phone. Its very perplexing as the system sees the Bluetooth but says Bluetooth Connection Failed.

jayclapp, let me ask you. Will the dealer be able to determine if the car was sold with Bluetooth? If so Then maybe its just a matter of software reinstall.

Please advise.

Sincerely,

My 04 UL came with two owners manuals. The "2004 Lexus Owner's Manual", which encompassess all models with descriptions for features that may or may not be availble in a particular model or optional equipment. It also included a 178 page "2004 Leus Navigation System Owner's Manual". On page 113 under "Hands-free system", is a complete description of Bluetooth and how to program and use a cell phone.

I am assuming that any 04 that has a nav system will also support Bluetooth and cell phones.

Manuals are essential for being able to operate a car that is as sophisticed and complex as the LS430.

It is trying to connect to the previous owner's Bluetooth device, just like my 2005 LS430 did when I got it.
Do as writes123 says: pair your phone to the car, and all will be fine.
My Motorola phone had excellent BT connections to this car. My current Samsung phone BT can get flaky at times. So, its not the car.
