LS430-Tire tires discussions (The Mother thread)

Yes, they are Primacy MXV4s. The Primacys are Symetrical while the Kumhos are Asymetrical. I think you will find the Primacys to be a quieter tire due to the non aggressive tread design. I can't give an opinion on mileage as I only have maybe 7,000 miles with no sign of any wear. These tires are not made for any type of handling but soak up all road imperfections and again are just about as quiet as any tire I have ever owned. How were the Kumhos for noise? I am planning on getting the Kumhos for my G35.

I've found that the OEM Dunlops on our 2006 have always had a "boom" noise on expansion joints and the like, and I'd like something a bit less irritating. I've had Primacy's on our Volvo and they are a pretty good tire for noise and handling, but both sets (215/55-16) have had a slight out of round problem with one tire out of the four (not due to a rim, happened on a different rim for each set). The first Primacy set I actually had shaved, but the second is not bad enough to bother with. Has anyone tried the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus, Tire Rack reviews have generally been positive?

I have Primacy's on my LS 400 and Pilot Sport A/S on a Volvo wagon and Jag XK8. The P/S ride a little firmer, have somewhat more tire noise, but seem to handle a little sharper. My main beef with the P/S is that it's a directional tire and limits the rotation to F to R. The ones on the Volvo with about 18K miles are beginning to cup slightly resulting in increasing tire noise. I'm ususally able to avoid this if I can reverse the direction of rotation occasionally.
The Primacy's have about 22k miles and are wearing evenly and should last a lot longer. They have run extremely true from the first and have never been rebalanced.
I seem to be the only person who hears a distinct, hollow, noise from the Primacy's that I find rather offensive.

I have an 04 LS430 and the tires on the car are 235/55/17. What is the factory size? When I plug my car into tires.com I get 235/55/17 but when I go anywhere else it says 225/55/17???

I have 65 k on my primacy h"a and still have like 6/32's left though they have worn a bit more on the outside and less in the middle though I run them at 34-35 psi. Super quiet, no pulling and still ahndle well though I am looking at new skins for winter may swap these back in the spring. Always happy with Michelins and my Yota tech Michelin balance out easier than any tire.
