I have tried it but when you press option or menu, there is no dvd "button" to press in the upper right corner? Does this overide work for 01 LS or only the newer models. If so, is there an overide for the 01 LS 430?

Lex, I also have a 2001 with version 1 and notice that the screen configuration is not like it is on the YouTube (screen with volume button doesn't exist); however, I have a version 7.1 on order which I HOPE shows the screen that the demonstration is presenting. In the meantime, you might want to try what one person posted...Menu then Press DVD, then go to the left side and follow directions. I don't even know if the DVD option is there because my car is not here at the moment. Good luck.

Nope, trid that....there is no DVD option on the screen. Does that mean I have to change the dvd disc I'm using? I have been told upgrading disc only updates points of interest and recently added streets. It does not change the look or options of the existing system. True?

Lex, I have the same question because, even though I have just installed the latest version (7.1) for North America, my menus don't look like the ones I've seen on either YouTube or as described (no volume icon as displayed and no dvd icon)....so, I'm wondering too and have a post (nav hack) listed. Let's hope. . .LOL...just noticed I've already posted this response to you...sorry.

Here is what you do to override the gen3:
This can be done at anytime, but its better to do it when you first start the car, as you need that I AGREE screen.
While the I agree screen is showing, press the following
1. Top most LEFT corner
2.Lower most LEFT corner
3.Top most LEFT corner AGAIN.
4. Lower most LEFT corner AGAIN
5. Then the RIGHT most Low Corner.
I know theres no buttons to press, just make sure you press at the very edges of the screen.
A secrete menu will pop up, then press and hold OVERRIDE till it clicks/highlights.
Then press MENU, then go back into the language settings, and hit the I AGREE button once again.
Your done.
IF you happen to be driving, and decided to activate the override, just click on MENU, then language. setting, and start from step number one.

Okay...this is how to hack (I got it!) the 2001 LS430 Nav....press Menu then select System Options.....when you get to that screen, press upper left, lower left, upper left, lower left then lower right....you will get the tech screen. Cannot do this from the "I agree" screen....must press menu then go to System Options (icon on lower right of screen). I'm using version 7.1.

Hi...
I have an '02 Ls-430 and I just tried to override my navi after watching the video but was not successful. Could it be that I need to upgrade my navigation system first? My version (version 1 I think) has never been upgraded. Or could it be that I just foolishly don't know how to follow instructions? All suggestions are welcome.
Thanks.
