Default 01-03 LS430 Trunk bar (chrome) DIY? pics

hey guys i dont know if this is for all our LS's but you know on our trunk bars above the license plate where it is half chrome then color matched
(i used Erics pic for reference)

well mine had a scratch in the painted area so i was mad at first..kuz i thought i would have to repaint it...then i started scratching the paint off with my nail and to my surprise underneath the painted area is chrome....i tripped out and now it looks like this

its not my actual car in the pic but ill show everyone my car tomorrow

thanks
Emerson

Can you post your pictures using the clublexus photo gallery, cuz I can't see any pics at work. They block it off

how did you take off the rest of the paint? did you scratch it off or did you take off the paint by some other way?

you could try acetone--nail polish remover maybe. I used this to clean up a halfway chromed ford emblem. the emblem was painted half black. looked great, just be careful not to drip any onto the rest of the car.i used q-tips.

just went out to "scratch" the underneath bottom corner and i saw karome!

i'll wait till friday, and take off the trunk handle and go to town with it! i'll prolly look for a paint remover for less elbow work, or sharp blades . . . . .
