I have a "Taillamp Failure" warning, but no lights out, so I have to look at the wiring. Otherwise, not much to complain about.

(I would like to update the GPS DVD sometime, but I don;t want to pay through the nose for it.)

Might be the 3rd (high brake light) is out when you step on the brakes. Atleast on my LS, I had a "bulb out" when my dad replaced the bulb with the wrong type (it still worked though)

2001 bought in 2007 at 89000 miles, now at 199,321 miles....major tuneup scheduled at 200k.
I enjoy my car everyday - to and from work 60miles,

My wife drove the car to and from work (110miles 5days a week) in 2010.

The best car i ever drove.

My 2001 that I have had for quite a while now (picked it up when it was 3-4 years old). I now I am at 150K (just about it) car runs great, no check engine light, everything is working great over all.

It's starting to feel old now, the ride is not as smooth as it was and it handles bumps pretty hard now. I'm hearing that replacing the motor and trainny mounts would help fix this.

The car is getting old but, it's been paid off for a while so, I'll hold onto it for a while longer before I attempt to hunt down a 460...

Sorry for the late response - You were right, it was the third light.

Thanks.

I have 181,000 miles on a 04 LS. I recently took it in for a check up and was told I need new lower control arm bushings, two front tires, and a rear light bulb. Other than that my car is in great shape. It will be paid off next year. I will hold on to it until next gen LS is released. But the new car bug has already bitten me. Should I trade it in for 460 now?

My '01 LS UL has right about 113,500. I bought it only a couple months ago. It drives very well and I really like how responsive the steering is. I've only had a couple of problems, but they were related to the aftermarket suspension and my own idiocy.

Plus, the previous owner was a mechanic and was very good about keeping all the paperwork for the parts that he bought to do the maintenance, thus I believe the only things I have coming up are an oil change and brake pads.

2004 LS Premium. Bought the car the beginning of Feb of this year with 74,500. Just rolled past 80k today. Not a single issue. People drop their jaws when I tell them it's an 8 year old car. I've noticed that I put MUCH more mileage on this car than my previous ones, but I guess that's what I love about it--just driving around. I was a little sad to see it hit 80k, NOT because I'm worried about high mileage, but just bc I'm putting so many freakin miles on it! 5.5K miles in just under 3 months! Rock solid though, not ONE single issue. My sunshade and seat climate controls do not illuminate, but I don't consider that a problem.

This is BY FAR the most fabulous car I've ever owned, and I'm not parting ways with her until she won't run anymore, and I know that will be a LONG time!

One thing that at least that I think helps these cars last so long is that they just drive so effortlessly. Like you can accelerate MORE THAN ADEQUATELY up to speed with it barely taching over 2k. That's very little strain on the powertrain. I'm sure you could rag them out 24/7 and not worry about it either, but I'd say this is one reason.

My 2004 LS430 (ML) has only 44k on it. This car still looks and runs like a new car, this one is a long term keeper,

2001 LS430 with Mark Levinson. Just rolled over 140k (got it with 80k about 4 years ago)

Issues so far:

*Driver HID bulb replacement

*Very light leak from input shaft on the differential

*Replaced both Front-lower-control-arm rear bushings

*$150 sensor for A/C went out

*Heater doesn't blow hot air anymore. A/C is stuck on full open so the hot air from the heater gets mixed with cold A/C and plows out cold. (haven't fixed this yet)
