I've got 120,700 miles on my 05 now. It's been the most reliable car I've ever owned.

I've been tempted to sell my BMW for another LS430.

Everything still works, did brakes a couple of times, starting to get some pulsating again, time to turn rotors, couple sets of Michelin's, synthetic oil change every 5K. Timing belt at 180K consisted of changing everything to include radiator, just a preventive maintenance thing for me, 13 year old plastic radiators and me do not get a long…

From a distance car still looks awesome, closer inspection, rust on the doors above the trim, yes Lexus if you are watching this is a problem. There is a fair amount of cosmetic wear on the front from doing 30K per year.

I keep saying that I am going to drive it until it drops; it’s given me no signs of being tired.

Good Morning,

It hit 220,000 on the way to work this morning.

Only issue in the last 10,000 miles is that it threw a Check Engine and VSC light with the code of:

PO1346 V V T Sensor/Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Problem Bank 1

And

PO1349 V V T Malfunction

In reading the forum, it led me to an oil control valve problem, to troubleshoot I took both valves out and put 12 volts to them, sure enough the bank 1 valve was barely activating in comparison to the bank 2 valve. Bank 1 and 2 valves are different part # 's. I replaced with Part # 15340-0F010 from the dealer for $130.

Both OCV's typically fail within a relatively short period of time. Be prepared for the other OCV to fail.

Default Update

My 2002 just turned 233,000 on a 2,000 mile round trip from Chicago to Fort Worth Texas for a wedding. The ride was comfortable for four adults (my wife and I with our collage age girls) and was also problem free. Best car I've ever owned by far. Every button and option still works as it should.

2001 ls430 base purchased 1 year ago and has 164k now. Only problem is a P0325 bank 1 knock sensor code came up and car ran on limp mode. I recently bypassed it and now runs like before ( will fix soon). Also has evap codes P044,P046, P041 but not to concerned about them as it drives fine and I just erase codes every 200 miles or so.

2001 Purchased new in August 2001
Currently 80155 miles:

Within the last year:
- the valve cover gaskets needed to be replaced as they started to leak oil due to the rubber gaskets cracking
- the radiator developed a hairline crack across the top and as a result replaced the radiator and all radiator hoses
- as a precaution due to age I had the timing belt and water pump replaced

PCW... that's about 5k miles per year... at this rate in 2031 you'll finally have about 150K on it and just getting it broken in... By then we'll be looking at the LS860 I'm sure.

220K for me on my 2001, Minor issues along the line but, over all the best car I have ever owned (and the longest too).

Right now, Minor issue in the front right wheel (figuring it out now), Trunk release motor is bad, can only open with key, and steering wheel tilt motor is gone (but, ok where it sits).

The tilt and trunk parts are close to $300 each, so figured not a big deal at this point.
