The other issue could be they didn't reset the actual sensor to the new windshield. In either scenario you should get it fixed and they should pay for it since you are missing functionality that previously worked.
If your glass was not replaced with OEM glass the rain sensor does not work properly. It's a common issue. I made a big stink when my glass had to be replaced and got the OEM glass......$2200! I was lucky having it covered by comprehensive.insurance.

My windshield was replaced with non-OEM glass as 99.99% are, and really, it was not a big deal to have a new gel pack put in. Very cheap as I recall. It works perfectly now.

Got 79K miles on my 04 ML.
Car runs great, but i feel the driverside window starting to become weak.
I searched and couldn't find any thing on the forums about window motor issues.
Can anyone chime in?

Thanks!

PGW glass. (Pittsburgh Glass Works) works. I had to replace a piece of that Chinese XYG glass (XingYang Province). It's not so much that the glass is cheap, it's just that the refraction index is different, and the rain sensor will never work with it. PGW glass, by the way is not expensive, should be around 200.00 for the windshield.

PGW glass is now made in China. Check the DOT number on your glass, google it or go to DOT.com and you can find where the glass is manufactured. The DOT issues the code number for all suppliers and it identifies where the glass is manufactured. There is almost no auto glass manufactured in America. The glass companies have quitely moved their operations to China.

02' UL.. 190,000 and still running strong. Just put a new set of Primacy's on her and hope to get at least another 50K-60K out of her. I drive a ton for work and this car is a dream. Little things are starting to go now. Hood Latch is sticking, my white leather seats are getting beat up by the kids (trying to keep em as clean as possible). Paint on the rims has started to peel off. One thing (knock on wood) is that I have had no issues with the air suspension yet.
