Default how to change transmission fluid

Hi guys,

How do you check/change the transmission fluid on the 2003 LS430?
Can someone point me in the right direction.

I've also owned a 1990 LS400, and I see the dipstick there, but where is this located on the 2003?

if you stand in front of the car and look into the engine, the tranny dip stick should be on your right (on the driver side), pay more attention and you will find it. It took me few minutes the first time I looked for it.

As for changing transmission oil, there is a pan (lots of screws) underneath the engine bay, you need to take that out in order to change the filter. When putting the pan back, make sure you don't over torque one side or it will leak!!! (torque them evenly all around). If this sounds too difficult for you, it probably is because of the leaking issue.

this is for 2001 LS430 lexus, I assume yours would be the same. Pardon me if it's not

I see it now! They sunk the dipstick quite a bit deeper into the engine bay compared to the 1st generation model.
Thanks!
