Who has the most mileage on their LS400? (The Mother Thread)
#826
I purchased my first LS400 about 4 months ago with 302k and at first I thought my husband might just be insane!! well I have fallen in love with it and don't want to drive anything else. Smoothest most comfortable car I have ever driven. I've had a Camry, Honda pilot, dodge durango w/5.7, Acura MDX, Buick Regal, and this beats all. Proud to say it doesn't leak a drop of oil, Shifts perfectly with regular maintenance. Only thing that happens is the mph needle gets stuck on 0. My power seat belt adjuster sometimes doesn't work. Just replaced driver side rear cv axle after realizing that was causing a vibration when accelerating. I can't believe this car is almost as old as me and is so nice!

Mine is currently at the Dealer getting a tune-up and they just informed me that it needs valve cover gaskets...I'm putting it on the list for the next visit...

What'd the dealer quote for your valve cover gasket job? Might as well have them check the valve clearances while they have it opened up.

Dealer ? What are they charging and did you get a loaner car? Here they do a loaner car and still beat the pants off all the indy's in the area for some work.

Yup. Mine is leaking onto the exhaust manifold on the driver side AND I have a spark plug gasket in the valve cover that is leaking slightly, allowing a small amount of oil to drip in.

However, the company I work for owns the Lexus Dealer so I do receive a discount...

200,000 +
Odometer recently clicked over to 200,000 miles. Purchased the car new on September 22, 1999. Starter replaced in 2012, otherwise only routine maintenance and normal wear-and-tear items. Valve cover gasket has a small leak but otherwise in great condition. There will never be another car that has "it" like my LS400.

I have 190,000. I own an Accord with 385,000, mainly from me. If you plan to go the distance do batches of preventative maintenance and suspension work in advance. It makes your life easier and keeps the car from getting too many issues compounding..

214K on my 1998
Not as many as most, but ran across this milestone when I put gas in my 1998 this week.
Seems I've got about 300k more miles to go...and looking forward to it.
