fluids change
I change my oil every 3000 to 4000 depending how I drive. and I change the filter every time.
I use Amsoil full synthetic 5w30 and Fram filters. every other oil change I change out one to two quarts of trans fluid. I use Toyota trans fluid type IV (I think)
Amsoil oil
Toyota red antifreeze with Distilled water and replace it every two years. its a small price to pay.
I do all the work myself so I don't have to pay labor costs.
But I did have a friend (AZ) help me with the timing belt. He dropped all the bolts all over the floor. and we only had 4 extra's when all is said and done. a few more than other projects but well within my margin of error. HA

Just purchased 30 days ago a 1996 previous one owner LS400 with 244,088 on the clock now. Severe power steering leak getting fixed along with the timing belt and water pump service this weekend.
Car runs amazing, all electronics work, no gremlins, AC ice cold, no weird noises, car handles tight and accelerates like new.
Contemplating getting seats redone and fixing some cosmetics but for a car that cost me $1200 with new tires, I really cannot imagine complaining.
Love it so much, I am in the market for a mint 98 or 99 to be my garage queen while driving this one every day.

i have a '95 with 332K, still runs great and gets 27 mpg with A/C blowing. I am putting into the garage this winter to fix many minor problems and a dent in the front right fender which some one gave to me in a parking lot as a present I suppose.

I just clocked in at 250K on my 90 LS400. I have a black on grey with burgundy leather interior. I do frequent oil changes and still runs like a champ. It has been in my care for the last 7 years and I am the second owner. The original owner always had it serviced at Lexus and is well documented

Silver 91 with 268K finally started hearing sand like noises coming from the cats. Outside of that everything worked great! Finally decided to put her on craigslist...
Placed the ad, hit the ENTER button, closed my laptop and walked to the kitchen. Before I made it to the kitchen my phone rang, That 1st caller bought the car the next day for $1000.
If I would have kept it another 3 months I would've driven her daily for a decade!
A few weeks later I bought my current blk on blk 99LS
