My 1991 LS400 has now 306,000 miles everything is original trans motor PS A/C I use mobile one synthetic in everything change motor oil at 15,000 miles trans 25,000 etc. changed radiator at 300,000 just to be safe it still looked ok. I had a 1986 Cressida went 529,000 miles with everything original again using synthetic fluids. Toyota sure makes great cars just take care of them.

Compared to some of you my 96 is still pretty much a virgin, I guess: just rolled over 175000 miles today.

Default LS 400 Mileage

I have 242,000 miles on my LS400 I keep the oil changed (Pennzoil) and keep her fed with Super Unleaded Shell gas and regular maintenance. I have replace the timing belt twice--once at 100,000 miles and again with 210,000 miles. It's like an Ever Ready Battery--just keeps going!

Default 550k ls

I have a 95 LS400 just turning over 330K. Simply the best car I have ever owned. The only major work was the tranny being rebuilt at 220K, other than than change the oil and normal maintenance, and fix issues when they arise. As I have recently moved I found new mechanic to handle the major things. He was floored by the power still under the hood.

This is for MattLS400. This may sound stupid, but my 1993 LS400 has had the same problem for about a year. I start the engine and when the tachometer and/or the speedometer don't work, I smack the top of the dash board above the speedometer. It may take a smack or two but it/they start to work again. My theory is there is a bad connection in the electronics. Don't hit it so hard that it dents the dashboard. Good luck.

Default 1998 LS400 with 286,000

Just now replacing the starter...doing this myself...and it is not an easy job. Other than that this is a "Great Automobile." Wish I could purchase another 1998 new LS400. Replaced the alternator 2 months ago. Oil change every 3,000 miles, transmission ever 15,000 now. Just started replacing the transmission oil every 15,000 this year trying to preserve it. Great car! Not liking the new design, so, I am trying to keep the '98 running.

Thumbs up 600.000kms

my lexus UCF20 1995 has just clocked 600.000kms , am in south Africa , parts here are only original equipment and we don't have the choice like in the us on aftermarket stuff , so we get raped for parts .other then the front lower control arm bush failure the car has given me no issues ,everything on the car is still standard , we don't have emissions controls here so my model doesn't have cats or lamda sensors ,the exhaust is still original , goes to show good quality materials were used in building these vehicles , I have a friend that is slowly bringing in parts from Dubai for me as it is a lot cheaper , $15 for air filter as opposed to R1650.00 and cam belt for $17 as opposed to R1800,00

Default many miles. many miles to go

1995 LS400 263,242 as of Monday. everything works. I did some work to it this summer
I store my car for six months every winter so I have to drive twice as much to put miles on.

I replaced the upper control arms. no more clunk June 2013
replaced brake pads and calipers in front July 2013
both cats and gaskets. and bolts (ouch) July 2013
I had 138,000 miles on my timing belt so I replaced it along with the water pump and some of the pulleys but using the same tensioner. also in July 2013. the belt was flawless, almost like new
since I was in there I replaced the radiator and hoses. I found one for cheap

I installed Depo LED tail lights to give it a newer look. I LIKE IT had to mod them slightly but they look great.

lower control arms to be swapped out during winter.

live long and prosper
