Who has the most mileage on their LS400? (The Mother Thread)
#801
My first LS was totaled at about 288k miles, it was a 93. My new one that i just picked up has 245k miles, it is 92... Both this one and the old one run (ran) great for the mileage.

this thread was originally started 13 years ago.. wild to think about that. scroll thru the pages and youll see everyones milage getting higher and higher and higher... yet still run beautifully. just another example of just how tough and over engineered these cars really are. long live the Ls400! hell yeah!!!!
btw, my last check in here was in the spring of 13 with 149k miles. im at 194,685 now (95 ucf20) and have had to do nothing but change fluids, wiper blades, and brake pads. cant kill these things

Hi everyone. I've just completed replacing the front and rear suspension; including all bushings, upper control arms, ball joints, struts, sway bar bushings and links. It rides great. My thanks to all who posted their DIY instructions. You guys are great.

Congrats, what brand did you go with on your suspension? Oem? Or aftermarket? I might be needing the front done soon.

LS400 Suspension parts
Hi, I used Roca bushings for the control arms which are supposed to be OEM. They appear to be of high quality and an exact match for the cracked originals. I was able to pound these out myself with a large vise and sockets of the same diameter as the bushings. Unfortunately, I needed a machine shop to push the new ones it. They used a 20 ton press, and according to the mechanic, it would have be easier if they had a larger press.
The shocks are KYB G2 complete assembles with springs and buffers. Beck Arney ball joints and upper wishbone control arms. The sway bar bushings and links were also replaced by I don't recall the brand name.
Good luck

300,000 miles on my '92 LS 400. Paint is gorgeous and gold without a ding or scratch. Autobahn certified for 140 plus mph. I've stretched her out to 143mph(once), just to see what she'd do. This is why they nickname this car the "Silent Rocket". Everything is factory original. I never drove a brand new one, but I can't imagine it would be much different than mine. Without a doubt, the best car I have ever owned. Check out my pics ( User name is phoenix68)

I prefer the more driver oriented GS series to the LS cars but there's something appealing about the early LS models that I really like. I need to go test drive one someday =)
