Those H&R's are about the best that are still readily available. If your current shocks have some miles on them, when doing this swap, it is suggested to have fresh shocks put in. If you want better handling, that leaves you Bistein at $120 each or the KYB GR2's at a bit less. Factor in $200 to install and $75 alignment. See, you can buy Megans.

not even close.
every shop put it at 7 or 8 hours because the book says to take the rear axle off.
my quotes were around $700 to install some springs.
I did that myself.

and any half-way honest shop knows that you don't need to take the axles out to do it on the LS, regardless of what the book says.
fronts are about 30-40mins on a lift, 1.5-2hrs total. (only because you need to pop a ball joint)
rears are easier, time to take the seats out (~30mins if you've never done it before)+1hr total (for both sides) on a lift. Total shop time should be no more than 4-5 hours if they've touched an LS before.
going rate in socal independents are ~$250-350 tops.

This thread discusses some install prices:

They don't need to take the rear axles off. The book suggests that but they come out with a bit of finesse. A slow guy (Speaking professional mechanic) can do it at 1 hour per corner. A shop/person who's familiar with the car is down to about 35-45 minutes a corner. If they have a fancy spring compressor that is one nut compress, even easier.
So roughly at $60-$70/hour, no more than 3 bills. Of course if this shop is hitting $90-$100/hour labor rates, ouch. The person who did mine was done at ~2 hours. Because we had spring binding, he had to do the routine all over to install insulators/wrap.

Sorry fellahs, dont know where to post this and figured this is the best place. I have a customer who came into my body shop with a 94 LS 400 with stock air. He wants to swap that out with Megan coils, my question is, are the check lights going to light up on the dash? Anything I need to worry about? Thanks for the assistance in advance.

lowering springs suspension.
I am trying to lower it without going to coilovers. I see that some people here have 2 inch up front lowering springs, however, I cant seem to find these springs, all the ones I find are only 1.8 inch drop. where can I get the 2 inch drop springs?
thank you.
thank you.

Buying entry level megans? do you mean megan coilovers or megan springs? Should I buy new shocks-struts too? I mean the car rides like a cadillac. Also, with the suspension set up that you have, how different is the ride to the stock ride? is there a huge noticeable difference?

megan coilovers.
kyb excel g shocks and tanabe df210s gave me the 1.8 inch drop and is a 9/10 when compared to stock ride.
Anything stiffer than that and ride quality will likely suffer.
I bought Springs for $150, Shocks for $380, all the oem mounts, insulators and bumpers for about $300.
It ended up costing well over the price of the entry level megan coilovers.
Spend about 600 on some megans then set them at the softest setting so your ride is still comfortable.
And those should easily give you a 2"+ drop

What do you mean " all OEM mounts, insulators and bumpers". I thought u would just need the springs and the shocks? Can I just buy the lowering springs without shocks? Is there any of you that might happen to b selling some used coilovers?
#375
4 = insulator
5 = bumper
6 = mount
Do they need to be replaced? Not always, but if they are worn and dry rotted, ride quality will deterioate.
Yes you can just buy lowering springs but this will shorten whatever life your old worn shocks have left.
Check the member classifieds, Im sure that someone has a set of coilovers.
