Great news for someone who has a lot of money to spend. In addition to 4K for the charger, the engine needs to be rebuilt. Stronger head gaskets need to be installed due to higher pressure. If not done, existing gaskets will probably blow (most 1st gen. LS400s are high mileage).
I am not sure how much more must be spent in order to prepare the stock engine for the scharger, but I imagine it is another 2-3K.
I'd also wait for a dyno to verify a gain of 100-120rwhp!

Otherwise, good news.

4K for just the parts does seem a little spendy... Doesn't $2-2,500 sound about right?

And then people complain why there are no aftermarket parts for our cars. FYI the retail for the headunit is $1800 alone. Add whole lot of other parts and the COST of putting it all together is $3500. Unfortunately I can not express everything that I want on this board sometimes.

Rice, good point but the SC kit will be tuned to the stock engine. If you want to go all out and decompress your engine, thats stage two with more PSI.

i agree with retro. most s/c kits for ANY car cost at least $3500-$5000. i'm just happy that there are people out there that are willing to produce performance parts for our cars. i'm going to do my best to try and contibute to our cars interest by purchasing legitimate performance parts!!! also i much rather have a centrifugal supercharger as apposed to a roots charger. the centrifugal has more power potential !!!!!! any idea how long before it's avaliable???
