Default Reskinned LS 430 (Pics)

We just posted up a story about the final design of the reskinned LS430. Just thought I'd share it with you guys.

"This picture shows the slight modification to the front bumper and newly designed wheels."

I knew it would not be a new radical Sclass design.

Thumbs down not enough

if that is all Lexus is going to do to freshen up the LS their in trouble.
i wasn't expecting a major overhaul but they need to do more to make
this model more appealing. maybe someone from Club Lexus shoud send
the designers at Lexus some "Daves Insanity Sauce"!!! maybe that will help
them spice it up a bit!

Red face

the only way to answer that response would be...
if Lexus and Mercedes Benz were priced exactly the same ....which one do you think would have
higher sales numbers????
The Mercedes Benz would destroy it.
The Benz costs more and in doing so limits the potential buyer pool.
I just thought of this.....maybe the E class sales numbers would be a better comparison.
Hey i'm a fan of Lexus automobiles....but the current crop...LS and SC's are boring.
very bland and unoriginal. the gs's are long overdo for a major overhaul.
hopefully something exciting will be coming from lexus other than suv's.
oh by the way....MB made 500 HP available for 03....i don't think that's a small change!

alot of the new MBs are nice but what happend to the CLK? I think it went backwards in design. Talk about a bland design. My friend is glad he got his CLK55 AMG when he did, which is a real sweet car by the way

Only the sales of the E430 & the new E500 can be compared to a LS430 price-wise.

The price of LS430 UL is actually on par with the base S430. Although I personally do prefer the styling of the S over the LS, it's far from a unanimous opinion, and I 've heard people who prefers the styling of the previous generation S class and thought the current S looks too androgynous. Disregarding the subjective consideration of styling, comparing Hp/torque, level of amenities, build quality ,reliability etc.,and the LS430 UL blows away the base S430 in just about every way.

BTW, I think the big 3 luxury brands are just about even w.r.t. their positions in the industry right now, although Toyota/Lexus is the significantly more dominant force than Daimler Chrysler.
It will be interesting to see whether Toyota Corp., with its huge resources compared to its competitors, would have the aspiration and the will to pull Lexus ahead of the rest of the luxury brands in the next 10 years.

this is just my opinion but i think Lexus has cemented itself right where it will stay for a long time....which is a very enviable position but still in the eyes of most people below Mercedes Benz and BMW. Part of this i believe is the longevity that the two german brands have over Lexus. Brand awareness plays a large part also. Mercedes Benz is recognized world wide as an automotive innovator and manufacturer of classically designed automobiles. Lexus has a line up suited mainly for north america. the main selling point being a lower price and reliability. hey ...this is great for the consumer but remember when it comes to establishing a brand image in the mind of a consumer it doesn't help to be a viewed as discount luxury. plus it doesn't help Lexus to rebadge toyotas. Lexus should have it's own distinct line of vehicles. it also doesn't help that Lexus is barely on the radar screen in europe. only time will tell but ,it seems that selling luxury automobiles at a lower price point seems to be Lexus's niche in the market.
let me say this again.....i like lexus automobiles. they are very nice cars. i was just hoping that the 04 LS was going to be more appealing than the photo at the top of this thread portrays.
