LED Taillight Conversion WIP, Opionions Sought
So I'm working to improve what I find to be very ugly 1st gen tail lights. Not exactly an easy task, but so far I'm pretty happy with the results. I've got the electronics pretty well situated, and I've also recolored the ugly yellow and red corner lights. The only thing I'm unsure of at the moment is whether I should keep the horizontal black stripes, or to continue down the road I'm on. What do people think?

brilliant work! I personally would keep the back bars as they keep a bit of the OE characteristic present. all red would look like a person missing pupils...unless you like that look. you'll need to photoshop to see the final result as one light is not enough to portray the effect.

cool project, I like the bars.
This guy might give you some ideas (i.e. diffusing the LEDS), it has to be the most educational DIYs I have ever seen. Good sense of humor too.

I'll write up a tutorial this week. I'm in the process of finishing off the rest of the tails now. And FYI... I ended up keeping the internal black structures.
