Default Wiring and component differences with Nakamichi sound

Hey guy's. As some of you follow, I'm building a replacement LS400 as mine was hit and totaled. I'm swapping nearly every single part in the car except the body, glass, fuel tank, and hard brake lines. I'm to the point of swapping the interior now. The wrecked car has a Pioneer stereo. The new car has Nakamichi. I have two dash from Pioneer cars complete with the dash harnesses. I have every part of both systems. I'm struggling with the decision to leave the Nakamichi or swap the Pioneer stuff in to the new car. The thing is that I don't know exactly what is different between the two cars. I think the dash harness, head unit, amp, speakers and CD changer are different to say the least. What about the body wiring harness going to said items? The Nakamichi head unit has a garbled display but works. I know they are no longer replaceable. I have seen Nak head units on eBay with perfect displays and was curious about going that route rather than sticking with the Pioneer.

Thoughts? I'm just curious if anyone has experience with exactly what parts are different between the two. The cars are both 1996's.
