Default Intake manifold 1998 - 2000 ls400

I have disassembled several 1998-2000 LS400 intake manifolds and observed pools of reddish-brown fluid in non intake rumner "pockets"

It is a mystery how any fluid could reside in these sealed pockets unless plaved there at the time of manufacture.

Damping? Cooling?

Anyone care to field this one... Non intake runner pockets contain pools of reddish fluid...Supposed to be there? What is it? Purpose?

So these fluid-filled pockets appear to be completely isolated from the intake stream via a metallic gasket between the upper and lower intake manifold....and the amount in each is equal...

The question is whether the O.E.M. placed fluid there during production...

As discussed, I have encountered this fluid each time I have disassembled 1998-2000 LS400 intake manifolds...

Haa anyone else seperated top and bottom of intake and encountered this fluid??

The dealer tech advises he has never separated an intake so cannot with authority... 1998-2000 LS400 exploded diagram depicting upper - lower intake manifold and metallic gasket (larger U-shaped)

Default Be careful!

You have exposed the Secret Sauce that makes them run so well; replace everything and mention this to no one.

I knew this engine had blood running through it. No wonder why it lasts so long!
