91 Driver Seat Belt Does Not Retract
Hi all and thanks for looking.
I have not been able to make any sense out of all the "seat belt" retraction posts....
I have a 1991 ls 400 - my driver seat belt won't retract. It is not because it is dirty or stiff.
Sometimes over a few days of driving it might retract a few inches on it's own...but I can not just pull it out and have it retract back - won't do it.
I am thoroughly confused by prior posts as to whether the problem lies in a "solenoid" or a retraction motor or in a sprung spring or a combination thereof.
Please help if you can with some clear indications of what item or items may be causing the belt to not retract.
