I'm gonna go with 'no' on this one. Right from the hip.

A 98-00 has a new bus system called BEAN and it's not compatible with earlier ones.

I was hoping Yamae would respond. He's the man with the REAL answers.

Anything can be made to work, but it will take money, knowledge, and time.

All that to end up with navigation that wasn't that good when it was being updated, which it hasn't been in over a decade.

the 1st gen navi in the LS400 is nothing more than a novelty. its dated and looks like a 3 year olds scribble picture with colecovision grade graphics. is it cool though? absolutely.

Get a TomTom or a Garmin and call it a day.

That made me giggle a bit! ha ha!

But to answer the question, i have looked at the parts list just for grins, and the wiring is significantly different, along with all the other equipment that is not in place, just as the GPS sensor and the little computers and such.

Not to mention, it takes control of the HVAC system, which as Yamae said, it likely would not communicate.

See the link below.

This person has tried to use the EVM for a UCF21 latter model to his UCF21 prophase model.
He had to give up failing to control the air conditioning due to the BEAN not connected.
