Default ECU Re-installation

1994 LS400
Issue: Re-installing the ECU

Don't judge me too harshly! My LS400 was not running for quite a while and finally got it back. I sent the ECU off to get repaired but rather than re-installing it I left it as is by leaving on the floor 'til I figured it out what was wrong with the engine. That took a few months.

Anyway, I don't remember how it came out and thus how to put it back in. Should've taken some photos. I've seen a few diagrams with it vertically but that's not right, the cables aren't long enough and there's nowhere the bracket fits. Does anyone have a diagram or a photo? I don't remember where the bracket connects (see photo) and exactly where the ECU lies. Is it on the lower panel (plastic)???

What does this bracket attach to?

THANKS in advance for anyone's input!!!

That's way different than a 1990.

Looking at diagrams for the 93-94, the ECM is in a horizontal position. The plastic loom doesn't look right, that opening should anchor it to a mount point in the dash. This diagram:

That top layout looks exactly like my 1996, which I just replaced my caps on.

Hope this helps. Looks like you need to drop the tan knee bolster panel under glove box. that is where the ecu bolts to. Next step for me is climate control lcd replacement. Wish me luck.
